ABOUT THE DESIGN
Dufus is our affectionate parody of Deus ex Machina, a brand created by our clever mate Dare Jennings, who kindly gave Dufus his blessing. The word "dufus" apparently originated as a gentle insult in American colleges during the 1960s, plausibly influenced by the word "doof", which means "daft" or "goofy" in both Scottish and German.
ABOUT THE MODEL
Dare Jennings isn’t just a mate; he’s been a supporter of our co-founder David and many other Aussie artists for decades. Before founding Deus ex Machina, Dare was the brains behind another Aussie mega-brand, Mambo, which managed to become huge while staying cultish. No easy trick.
