ABOUT THE SCULPTURE
I serendipitously stumbled across the work of Aussie sculptor Anne Kwasner when her son interviewed me about my art for his journalism course. I was immediately drawn to the comfortable oddness and tactile warmth of her pieces, qualities that perfectly align with the Guru. I love the result of our collab. 

Guru Adrian is a memetic character I introduced to the world during the 1980s before memes became a thing. He’s a secular deity known as the God of Fun, whose mantra “Having fun is half the fun” gets quoted back to me at my art openings to this day. The Guru became for me what the Radiant Baby was for Keith Haring: a muse and calling card. Keith and I even collaborated on a Guru print called No Body.
